Prof Irmgard Nippert

Current position: university professor and chair person of the Women’s Health Research Unit, Muenster Medical School, Westfaelische Wilhelms-Universitaet, Muenster, Germany

Irmgard Nippert, PhD, has been conducting for more than three decades national and international research projects evaluating the translation and application of genetic knowledge in transition from research into medical practice. Most recently she has been coordinator of the international CAPABILITY project which served as a model project for successful, sustainable collaboration between European research centres and research centres from emerging economies. She is currently coordinating the global GenTEE (Genetic Testing in Emerging Economies) study. GenTEE documents and composes the state of genetic service provision in Argentina, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Oman, the Philippines and South Africa.
